Cleaning up my Emacs config
Posted <2017-07-12 Wed 19:45> by Aaron S. Jackson.
I have decided to clean up my Emacs configuration. It was pretty long
and over time there were packages being loaded which I no longer use.
The only keybinding I'd set which had overwritten a default is
C-/
for commenting and un-commenting lines or regions.
Things I removed:
- Custom stuff related to
org-mode
. Babel, in particular. There are no settings related to babel anymore. I no longer define an org-mode agenda file. - Ido has gone! Other than for selecting files, I'm not sure I ever really saw it being used anywhere. This was one of the first packages I installed, but things seem fine without it.
- Some LaTeX settings, which probably have been ignored since I switched to AUCTeX mode in Emacs, instead of the plain TeX mode.
- I don't have MATLAB installed on my laptop anymore, so I no longer
have
matlab-mode
installed. - Removed the line about Confluence, since it never worked, and I never bothered to remove it.
I also removed my README file, because it was already very outdated, and I really can not be bothered updating it. Let's see how it goes.
